P&O Ferries Wins Ferry Operator of the Year Award

The winners of 2010 British Travel Awards has announced. Held in Battersea Evolution in Battersea Park London, the awards revealed the best travel companies for the year 2010. More than 220,000 votes were cast this year by the British public making the British Travel Awards the largest independent awards scheme in the UK. The event hosted more than 11,000 people employed in the UK travel industry. Virgin Atlantic won title of Airline of the Year while The Car Hire Company of the Year award was won by Hertz travel company. Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines took ‘Cruise Line of Year’ with P&O ferries picking up the award for Ferry Operator of the Year. 

Lorraine Barnes Burton, British Travel Awards chief executive said, “The British Travel Awards are widely considered to be the “Oscars” of the travel industry! It’s the largest awards programme in the UK, created to reward travel companies, with the winning accolade being the benchmark for excellence when it comes to finding out who really is the best in the business of travel for the UK consumer. This year, more than any, the competition was fierce and all winners are to be congratulated on their achievement.”
