Ferry On Portsmouth To Le Havre Route :
The ferry operator LD lines has introduced special launch offer for travel in 2011 to mark the arrival of its new giant ferry Norman Leader, on the Portsmouth – Le Havre route. Norman Leader, currently under construction in Singapore is all set to be delivered in early spring, and will enter service in May 2011. The new ferry cost around £78m with twice the capacity of the vessel she is replacing. It has capacity for 1215 passengers and a combination of either 67 lorries and 200 cars or 44 lorries and 400 cars. The company says that the old vessel simply isn't big enough to cope with demand.

In terms of facilities and passenger comfort, the ferry has been specifically designed for the route and we are very confident that she will prove to be a popular addition with customers to the LD Lines fleet.” Bookings are now open for Norman Leader that will operate the overnight service from Portsmouth and return day sailing from Le Havre.
